The scientific committee is a consultative working group which gives its opinion on actions taken by the museum.
The scientific committee is responsible for making recommendations on the museum's cultural and scientific policy. It can also make suggestions regarding research and cultural programming. It meets once each year.
The Verdon Gorge Museum of Prehistory scientific committee is a group of people with qualifications in archaeology, history and scientific epistemology, together with representative of the museum's institutional partners.
It reinforces and develops relationships between the museum and the scientific community on a regional, national and international level.
